Random 80s Musical Bullying Scenes

Marls sent me a link to a BuzzFeed list of the 12 Most Amazing After-School Specials. There was a link to this dance fight from Ace Hits the Big Time:

And it's awesome (especially, "You're gonna look like cooked spaghetti!"), but it really just reminded me of my all-time favorite random music scene from the kick-ass Teen Witch. I used to know all the words to it.

What's Up Ninjas?

So here's a run down of what's been going on since we've not been paying much attention over here on Alex.

- Jen got a house and graduated from college. Big ups. Huge ups. Especially for the 3.9 GPA. How about a little applause? Yeah, that's right!

- Been working pretty hard and yet hardly working. Dad joke. In honor of John H. Martin's birthday this week, I had to.

- Jake and I got a dog. The handsome Henry. He and Otto are not getting along, but these things take time. He is a rather high energy doggie however, so last night he received his dinner in a snack ball. Roll for kibble, Henry! Otto observed from his roost on top of the refrigerator.

- We have some new blogs to share with you:
Geoff Johnston's The Hanging Brain. This is where Johnston does and says all the stuff you never expect anyone--with the exception of Geoff Johnston--to do or say.
Noah W. Bailey's Tha Juggalizer. After a recent video viewing of Insane Clown Posse fans (aka Juggalos) at the 10th anniversary "Gathering" celebrating all things ICP, Noah has now taken it upon himself to turn unwilling celebrity 8x10s into effing Ninjas up in this piece, yo. It's amazing how horrific "clown" make-up can make Angela Landsbury.

What's new with you?

UPDATE: Henry was a sweet doggie but we discovered he had a taste for cat tail that couldn't be satisfied even after he unfortunately got a couple of bites of Otto's.
Otto is just fine now. His tail is no worse for the wear and he's calmed down a lot. The animal behaviorist we worked with agreed they could not live together and to return him was the best action, given Otto's traumatic past abuse and having no idea of Henry's early life. We were very emotional about the decision, but it turns out it was for the best because Henry has apparently found an awesome, loving no-kitty home!! I hope he got to take his loofah dog toy with him.

infinite summer - who's in?

yes, i'll admit it. as an avid bibliophile (which my future movers will attest to, those poor box-carrying souls), i have picked up and put down infinite jest more times than i care to admit. i'm one of those people. i've ended up giving away 3 (i think) copies of the book to people who seemed more determined than myself (i'm pretty sure oliver was the only one who finished), but recently i bought yet another copy in anticipation of infinite summer, the online "really, this time we're going to finish the damn thing" reading group. reading is scheduled (loosely i assume) from june 21 through september 22, averaging an easy peasy 75ish pages a week.

so who's going to join me? and don't give me any of your dumb excuses - i have to move, construct, paint, take a mediation class and graduate during this time and i'm doing it.

nerver is still on the fence, but has her copy ready, just in case....

kinda like jesus but not. it's been months since either of us have posted anything, but i swear, we totally have valid excuses..... does anyone still read this anymore?

you'll have to excuse us for our lack of updates - things have been pretty hectic in the trebek-hating camp, so we're sorry we've been neglectful.

here's some news items to catch you up:
* nerver relocated to a land far, far away (read: about a 10 minute drive), leaving me to curse most of my neighbors at glendale "melrose place" oaks
* she also had some travel adventures, of which i think she'll have to explain
* i'm one course away from finally getting my degree. my perfect gpa was marred by my inability to give a fuck about art appreciation/ a bastard ex messing with my head, but a 3.8 is good enough...
* said ex has been banished to the 9th circle of hell and i'm currently accepting applications for a replacement
* i'm buying a house - hopefully. (fingers crossed). inspection is tomorrow, so we are potentially on the verge of full-on adulthood
* cami has officially taken the position of best top golfer-female. you'll now be able to find us at top golf practicing at every available moment
* i have a sweet tea addiction that won't quit

and now we need to know what's up with everyone else....
